Psycho-Somatics
Disconnections and imbalances in and between the mind and body often contribute to illness and injury and hamper the ability to get well. Restoring appropriate internal balance is an important step toward creating an easeful body and a relaxed focused mind.
There are many reasons why illness, injury and the mind become negatively entangled and thankfully there are many ways the mind and body can be used to heal the whole system, and bring about healthy embodiment.
Psycho-somatics draws upon many theories about the way in which memory, narrative, emotion, body, expression, soul, faith, cognition and perception all interact. Unfortunately it is far too broad to go into here. On the resources page there is more reading material.
However if you are experiencing physical symptoms which are not based on a medically recognised diagnosis, and which are resistant to treatment, then there is some chance that it is psycho-somatic. In fact, even some cases of medically diagnosable symptoms may have a psychological element to them as well as the physiological element.
Psychologically oriented bodywork and psychotherapy can sometimes be a great help in these cases. If you want to experience freedom, ease and clarity again, call for an assessment interview:
