About Julian

I believe that people can change. I believe this because I have seen it: I have seen this change in my clients, in the people who taught me, and in the people I teach, and perhaps most importantly I have seen it in myself. No matter how far you fall, how broken you are, how lost, frustrated and anguished – you can improve.

For nearly two decades I have been working in the field of complimentary health, focusing on mental health and wellbeing and the mind-body connection. Originally I focused on bodywork as a means of creating change in a person’s inner life. For many years now, I have worked as a Psychodynamic and Somatic (body inclusive) Psychotherapist.

In my own, and my client’s therapeutic journey, I am constantly amazed at the role the mind can play in creating and sustaining either pain and dysfunction or relief, growth and wellbeing. People thrive when they find meaning, value, direction, purpose and the commensurate emotion for all aspects of their lives including their illness and injuries.

I am a member of the following organizations

Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia – clinical member

Australian Somatic Psychotherapy Association – clinical member

Eye Movement and Desensitisation and Reprocessing Association of Australia– Full member

Psychophysiologic Disorders Association

International Society for Psychological and Social Approaches to Psychosis

International Association for Relational Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy.
